Residential Weekend - From Vision to Action

A key part of Love is a Verb is the Weekend Away, (January each year) which involves helping participants develop a clear Vision Statement for their lives, particularly in relation to the needs of those around them.

Just as many organisations have clear vision/mission statements which help them to work intentionally and to focus their time, energy and money in a given direction, so we enable people to Live On Purpose* (The title of a book by Tom & Christine Sine) by articulating a Vision Statement of their own.

The weekend is highly participative and focuses on three main activities - Clarifying Vision, Understanding Commitment and Planning Strategic Action.

Many have found the weekend to be very significant, not just in terms of Urban Mission, but in other areas of their lives. It also helps people retain what they learn on the course and make it part of their everyday lives.
